Iceberg's technology is comprised of many components to enhance
portability, scalability, and maintainability. To give you an idea of
how an Iceberg solution works, these elements can be grouped into
anticipation, aggregation and delivery components.
Anticipation Components
The heart of the Iceberg Intelligent Engine, the IceCube Service,
anticipates the user's information needs based on user information,
preferences and usage history. It then determines the content providers
and makes requests of intelligent agents and client gateways to gather
information. Intelligent agents request, receive, and manage vendor
information such as weather, mapping, restaurants, entertainment, and
other client specific data. Client gateways store business rules for
communicating with clients and options to encrypt data and cross
reference user ids.
Aggregation Components
When the information has been gathered, the IceCube Service uses
Iceberg Web Page templates to format and store the data for display on
the mobile device by the AvantGo browser.
Delivery Components
Iceberg has partnered with AvantGo, a leading provider of software for
mobile devices, to seamlessly deliver content to the mobile device.
Iceberg Conduits run on the AvantGo Sever to deliver data to the mobile
device and log synchronization information. Iceberg applications
running on the mobile device create calendar records linked to web
pages without reading or retaining private calendar information.
Iceberg applications support launching different applications (third
party handheld applications, MP3, web pages, video clips, etc.) from
the calendar. Iceberg applications ensure the security of corporate and
personal calendar data and provide access to vital information with
just one click.
