M-Commerce

Take e-commerce, add information about the user's preferences, location, and activities, deliver personalized content and offers to a mobile device, use push delivery vs. pull delivery, and you've got m-commerce. The full potential of m-commerce may not be realized until more mobile users have wireless access and wireless access speeds increase. However, opportunities to deploy m-commerce applications exist today. Here's an example:
    1. Current customer subscribes to mobile shopping services provided by a retailer.

    2. Iceberg's Intelligent Engine anticipates customer interests using profiles, preferences, past purchase information, and product information from the retailer's database and aggregates this with other third-party information on products and services.

    3. Mobile customer synchronizes data. During the data sync, the Iceberg service downloads web pages to the mobile device with product offerings of interest to the customer and all the supporting information needed to make a purchase.

    4. Mobile customer makes a purchase whenever and wherever it's convenient.

    5. The next time the customer synchronizes data, via a wireless or wired connection, the purchase information is sent to the retailer.
Iceberg's m-commerce solutions mean:
  • Customers have the ability to shop anywhere
  • Retailers can tap into new markets
